Is NIDEA free to use?
Yes. NIDEA is free to use, with no ads and no subscription.
Can NIDEA read my messages?
No. Your messages, photos, files and voice notes are end-to-end encrypted on your device and can only be opened by the person you send them to. Calls are encrypted in transit.
Do you access my contacts?
No. You connect with people by @username, QR code, link or nearby sound pairing. Your contact list is made up only of the people you choose to chat with.
How do I sign in?
With your phone number or email address. We send you a secure verification code, so there is no password to create or remember.
Can I use NIDEA on more than one device?
Yes. Link another Android device with a fresh verification code, and manage or remove signed-in devices at any time under Privacy settings.
How long do status updates last?
You decide: 12, 24 or 48 hours. They expire automatically, or you can delete them sooner.
Who can see my status updates?
Only people you have active chats with. You can also hide an update from specific people, or share it only with people you choose.
Can I download my data?
Yes. In the app, go to Profile, then Privacy & Security, then Download my data. You get your chats, groups, calls and settings as a file. Photos and files are listed in it, not copied.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile, then Privacy, then Delete Account. If you cannot get into the app, the step-by-step instructions are on the account deletion page. Account deletion page.
Which devices are supported?
NIDEA is coming to Android first. An iPhone version is in development.
How do I report a problem or a user?
For a technical problem, email nidea@netgrawl.com. To report a person or something inappropriate, use the Report button inside the app.
